Simultaneous Interpreting or SI is where the interpreter listens to the speaker and delivers the translation in real time – at the same rate of delivery as the speaker – to the audience. It is a mode of interpretation commonly deployed at conferences, seminars or forums where the interpreters will typically be situated in a discreet booth, wearing microphones and headsets, with a direct link to the speaker’s microphone, and a link to the headsets worn by the audience to receive the translation in real-time. Most commonly used where more than two languages are involved in the communication, SI is one of the key services HI-COM provides. With a decade of experience, our team is trained to support and succeed at events of all difficulty levels.
