FACTS ABOUT GREEK LANGUAGES

During its creation, the Greek language was derived from the proto-greek that appeared during the 3rd millennium BC. The language later evolved into other forms such as the Ancient Greek spoken during the antiquity. Then, after  Ancient Greek came Modern Greek during the Byzantine Empire era in the 15th century.

Today, we can count more than 13 million Greek speakers, which make this language the oldest language that is still in use.

As for the foundation of the Greek language, many words made up the creation of the English language, amounting to around 12%. The main difference from many other languages is that Greek has three genders: feminine, masculine and neutral.
