Conference Interpreting

Conference or Simultaneous Interpreting Services (Simultaneous Interpretation)

Simultaneous Interpreting is where the interpreter listens to the speaker and delivers the translation in real time – at the same rate of delivery as the speaker – to the audience.  It is a mode of interpretation commonly deployed at conferences, seminars or forums where the interpreters will typically be situated in a discreet booth, wearing microphones and headsets, with a direct link to the speaker’s microphone, and a link to the headsets worn by the audience to receive the real-time translation.

How does Simultaneous Interpreting work?

Simultaneous Interpreting involves highly skilled and experienced interpreters, whom are familiar with the subject matter and technical terms.  Due to the speed of receiving, translating and then delivering the message, interpreters need to be able to think clearly and act quickly under pressure.  Simultaneous Interpreters usually work in pairs, alternating regularly to allow for optimal performance and accuracy.
